Universal Philippine School (UPS) was established in July 2022 to serve the educational needs of the Filipino community in Al Ain. The school was founded with the vision of becoming a leading educational institution in the Gulf Region, offering quality and culturally relevant education to the Filipino expatriate population. After fulfilling the necessary requirements set by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), UPS was granted Education License Number 202216AD and officially opened its doors in December 2022. The school began with 45 students, marking a modest yet meaningful start. Student enrollment is projected to grow significantly, reaching 350 students by its second year of operation. In late December 2024, the school came under the new ownership of the Al Ansari Education Group.
As it moves forward, the Universal Philippine School aims to provide a well-rounded education that encompasses academic excellence, Filipino cultural preservation, and a strong sense of community. It seeks to offer a curriculum that is designed to meet the unique needs of Filipino students while promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration with the local community. The school's establishment represents a significant milestone in the provision of educational opportunities for the Filipino community in Al Ain, as it addresses the need for culturally relevant and high-quality education. It is expected to continue to grow and play a vital role in nurturing and educating future generations of Filipino expatriates in the UAE.

It is also hopes to produce faith-centred, environment-friendly, socially responsive, and values-oriented individuals and uphold the vision, mission, and values of Abu Dhabi 2030 vision.
UPS ensures the local community to be well-represented and participates in the development of the school and its place with the Abu Dhabi landscape and to educate the students, so they understand, respect and promote the local culture, religion and heritage of the United Arab Emirates.

UPS is committed to providing high quality education based on the Philippine Curriculum. It is committed to continual review and improvement base on best practice in other countries and on the needs of the children.
